Salem Welsh Wesleyan Methodist Chapel was built in 1837, enlarged in 1845 and rebuilt again in about 1852. In 1888 it was recorded as being in a derelict condition but appears to have been in use again by about 1897. The existing building is in vernacular style and of long-wall entry plan and appears to date from the mid C19th. Present status [2000] : chapel.
