Victoria Square was laid out as a green-space and prominent town landmark in the late 1880s, along with its central feature of All Saints Church, with three storey red brick or local limestone terraced and semi-detached Victorian and Edwardian houses. No 14 is typical with strong red brickwork, contrasting render, panelling and the elaborate use of steep gables, bays and dormers.
