The barn range at Cilwenau Uchaf is dated 1832. It is a continuous farm range consisting of a high-door barn to the left and a cart-house to the right. The right gable has a flight of stone steps to a boarded loft door with a stone voussoired cambered head. Collarbeam roof. Loft to carthouse.
The range is Grade II listed as an excellent and intact example of an early 19th Towy Valley high-door barn, a type once common. Several in the area have been lost or converted to dwellings and preserved examples are rare.
