An unidentified wreck (UKHO 89232) lies in 10m of water and is orientated 160/340 degrees. The wreck was first located and examined by the UKHO in 2018 and has a surveyed length of 75m. It is described by the UKHO as being moderately well-defined, although in multiple pieces. A debris field extends for 25m towards 210 degrees, from the wreck.
The surveyed length of the wreck (75m) is comparable to the length (73.2m) of the SS ABERDARE (NPRN 274076) which was wrecked in 1899 at a location given as 1.5 miles south of Barry Island. Further research is required to confirm this tentative identification.
