CHERISH Project aerial reconnaissance for the Royal Commission on 4th July 2018 recorded parchmarks of the buried remains of a 220m long section of surfaced road or track, curving away from the line of the modern road for a short distance before rejoining it. This is potentially the line of the Roman road which has not previously been identified in this location. A potential area of quarry pitting is evident on a rocky ridge just to the north of the road parchmark.
