CHERISH Project aerial reconnaissance for the Royal Commission on 4th July 2018 recorded a cluster of plough-levelled ditched features to the north and south of Ynys-fach, showing as parchmarks in drought conditions. A series of linear ditches appear to define an early field system, predating the layout of modern farms and fields. Just to the east of Ynys-fach house at SH 435 545 is a rectangular cropmark with oval ends, apparently a house structure of prehistoric or medieval date. It sits close to a larger double-ditched field enclosure. To the north of Ynys-fach house at SH 435 546 is a possible circular ring ditch. The parchmarks are truncated along the west side by coastal erosion.
