Nelson Council School opened in temporary accommodation in September 1908 (Mixed Department) and March 1909 (Infants). New buildings were opened in December 1909. Its name changed to Llancaeach Mixed Primary School in June 1954. Under Welsh Government's 21st Century Schools Programme, a new Primary School has been proposed for Llancaeach / Llanfabon, aiming to amalgamate Llancaeach Junior School and Llanfabon Infants School to create a new Primary School and to include community use of the facility.
