Lodge Hill Primary School is believed to have been built in the 1960s. In 2018 Lodge Hill Primary School moved into new premises on an adjacent site, built as part of Welsh Government's 21st Century Schools Programme. The new Welsh-medium school - Ysgol Gymraeg Nant Gwenlli - was established on the former Lodge Hill school site in September 2021 as a seedling school before plans to move permanently to Pillgwenlly Primary School site in 2023-24. Proposals were made in 2017 to demolish the former Lodge Hill Primary School following the transfer of Nant Gwenlli to their new site.
