Description
Associated with the pools in the park of Powis castle: Nprn80518 and Powis Castle (Nprn29858).
Part of (set within and functionally integrated with) Powis castle park/gardens (Nprn265627).

Only the well part had survived when it was rediscovered c.1980: it measured 3.5m deep, with a 0.7m deep stepped down sump, including remains of a metal grid which is 3.5m at its greatest diameter. The probable date of construction is 1800-1840. Youth Opportunity Project labour was used to rebuild the dome and entrance (November 1981). It is marked on the OS first edition 25' map (XXIII, 11).
