Bethel Methodist Chapel was built in 1802, modified in 1838 and rebuilt in 1854. This congregation moved into a new chapel in 1911, designed by architect R. Wynn owen of Liverpool and built in the Lombardic/Italian and Simple Gothic style with a gable entry plan. This final Bethel chapel closed in 1995 and stood disused awaiting demolition.
