Description
Pendref Methodist Chapel was built in 1802, enlarged in 1822 and rebuilt in 1828 to the design of architect Evan Roberts of Denby. The chapel was re-roofed in 1863 and refitted inside in 1876 by architect Richard Owen of Liverpool. Externally the chapel is built in the Gothic style of the gable-entry type, with a three-bay, two-storey ashlar facade. It has corner buttresses with obelisks and a pedimented gable with a petaloid pattern in a circular panel. A schoolroom was added in 1905 and the windows date from renovation works in 1955. Pendref is now Grade 2 Listed.
