Description
Carter's Farm, a T-shape farmstead set on a platformed site to the W. of Stonewall Hill and overlooking the Norton brook to the W. The house, of two main periods, is set on a downhill-sited platform to the NW. of the complex and is mainly stone built, although the lobby-entry unit at the upper end has the main front re-built in brick. Running in range with the house, to the SW., is a three-bay bay of earlier date and with a wattle infilled timberframe. Off the centre of the house and set to the SE. across the slope of the ground is a stone-built mixed range that includes stable unit at each end with a cowhouse in between; the loft over has a timber-framed weather- boarded front on the S. To the SE. of the farm is a seperate cartshed with granary over, also stone built with a lean-to along the S.wall.
