Description
Cwm-mawr, a small farmstead standing on a slight downhill sited platform at O.D.900ft. and at the head of the valley with a small adjacent to the E. Only the gable-end chimney of the stone-built house now remains standing and all the farmbuilding to the S. have gone down. The one-and-a-half storeyed house appears to have been of a central-entry plan with a gable-end chimney on the N.; the chimney contains a large fireplace under a timber bressummer and there is a brick-built bake oven inside the W. jamb. There is evidence of the seating for a spine-beam over the bressummer. A further single-unit building added onto the upper end gable of the house is also ruined. (HB)
