The first Bethania Baptist Chapel was built in 1845 but was submerged c.1900 as part of the formation of the Caban Coch Reservoir.
The chapel said to have been used as a Social Institute by the Water Committee staff during the dam and reservoir construction. A new chapel was constucted c.1900 in the new Elan Village.
