Description
A curvilinear bank and three small cairns are located on the steep south-west facing slope of Drysgol.
On plan the bank has a total length of some 300m. From SN 68091533 it follows a westerly direction up the steep hillside for c.80m crossing an earlier platform at SN 68151533 (NPRN 84087). It then very roughly follows the contours in a S direction before descending gradually downhill.

The bank is a spread of stones averaging 2m wide. Its profile is sharpest at its north end where there is a well-defined ditch on the north side and where the bank is boulder revetted in places. Towards the south the bank becomes more spread and less distinct but becomes sharper at its terminal and here shows evidence of an outer ditch. Where the bank is best preserved its height is about 0.6m.
The bank appears to form the N and E sides of a triangular enclosure which is bounded on the west by a trackway running closely parallel to the current enclosure banks. It may have formed the east side of a more extensive enclosure eventually superseded by the current enclosures, or else an abandoned intake subsequent to their establishment. The former case is suggested by the character and alignment of the south terminal bank which roughly matches that of the south side of a droveway that opens out onto the mountain at SN 68151508.
Both bank and enclosed area are overgrown with bracken, heather, grasses and moss.
Within the enclosure are three small cairns:
SN 68121530 a mound of loose stones measuring 7m (NE-SW) by 5m and 0.2m high, consolidated around its edge with heather, moss and bracken.
SN 68151527 a stony mound overgrown with heather, moss and bracken and measuring 5m (NE-SW) by 3m with a height of 0.3m.
SN 68161529 stony mound as above but measuring 7.7m (E-W) by 4.3m and 0.3m high.
