Remains of at least eight limekilns stand on the W and S slopes of Twyn y Ffald, the centre of which has been removed by later quarrying thereby destroying any other early workings.
The kilns are now hollow-topped turf-grown stone mounds, standing to about 3m high, some displaying traces of their limestone-block construction, and are located as follows:
SN 8522 1586 SN 8518 1589
SN 8522 1588 SN 8513 1592
SN 8515 1587 SN 8518 1592
SN 8518 1587 SN 8514 1594
A ruined building nearby, at SN 8510 1588 and known as Pant-y-ffynnon, is not considered to be associated with the limeworkings.
