Description

A rectangular compartmented building is located on a natural terrace above a sharp bend in the upper Usk, at the foot of the river cutting.
Overall the building measures 6.8m (NE-SW) by 5.4m (5m by 2.8m internally). Its walls are of stone and boulder construction 0.9m thick and 0.5m high. There is a partition wall towards the SW end. The smaller (SW) bay is heavily overgrown with rushes and peat. Inside the E corner of the larger bay is a small compartment measuring 1.5m (NE-SW) by 1m built out of loose rubble 0.4m high; this may be a more recent feature.
There are no clear entrances to either compartment. The outer NE end wall is slightly rounded.
The terrace continues for a further 10m beyond the NE end but no stone structure is visible upon it.
