Description
Located on level ground in otherwise undulating limestone moorland, close to a forestry plantation fence which passes close by on the east, is a damaged cairn. It is composed of loose sandstone rubble consolidated around the edges and measures 10m in diameter and 0.5m high. The cairn has been dug into from the north-west. A shakehole is forming on its south-west rim.
This site is shown on a 1749 map of the Penmoelallt estate where it is named Carn y Ffwlbart (English: cairn of the polecat). The adjacent boundary uses the cairn and nearby sink holes as markers.
