Description
The first Pant Glas Methodist Chapel was built in 1836 and modified by further work in 1868. This was rebuilt in 1903 in the Sub-Classical style with a gable-entry plan. The walls are faced with rock-faced stone, and the openings have flat lintel heads and rusticated dressings. The slate roof has a red tile ridge with a terracotta finial, and the former chapel house at the rear is under the same roof span. There are three windows in each of the two side walls - these now have late-twentieth century attic windows above them. The front gable has a flat-headed triplet above a plaque inscribed: "Pantglas 1903". There is a wide late-twentieth century window below, presumably in place of the former chapel doorway. The chapel closed in the late 1950s and was subsequently converted for domestic use.
