1. Gardens & other landscaping features associated with late 16th century house (Nprn16016) set within remains of medieval castle (Nprn305735): OS County series (Brecknock. XXXIV.7 1887) shows orchards below the house, on the NW, & ornamental tree-planting on the spur-end of the castle area, as well as on the scarps to the SE.
2. This site is depicted on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25-inch map of Brecknockshire XXXIV, sheet 7 (1888,1904) a kitchen garden on the SW overlooking the road. Opposite this is the village pound, which clearly goes out of use between the two editions. Otherwise the amount of orchard depicted also stays the same.
