Capel Baddon Baptist Chapel was built in 1901 but has since been incorporated into the present Literary Institute, which was established here in 1882. The former place of Baptisms is marked by a grid, in front of the Institute's rear elevation.

Charles Ellis, Architect of Aberdyfi, designed some alterations to the building.  The plans for these are undated but are likely to be from the 1920s/1930s.
