Description
This garden is depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25-inch map of Brecknockshire XI, sheet 7 (1888, 1904). In 1888 these depict 3 NE facing terraces on the E overlooking a large orchard, with a tiny kitchen garden on the far W. By 1904, a completely new property has been planted between this modest farm and to the S of its neighbour Pen 'r 'Heol. This is equipped with a large trapezoid kitchen garden with conservatories/glasshouses and the mansion overlooks a s-facing garden cut by a long e-w terrace. The house itself has a large S-facing conservatory, and the plot appears to have been selected in order to take advantage of the woodland and stream which it overlooks.
