1. This is an agricultural property, which was occupied by a retired RAF officer called Pawsons after 1969. Around what was a fairly conventional quadrangular farmyard, they created a series of gardens, the plants of which largely reflected those then becoming available through the developing garden centres. When examined in 1994 there was a strawberry tree at the S end, adjacent to a derelict building; at the N End there was a pond overlooked by a slightly raised walkway, all set with relatively exotic varieties. Away from the dwelling house there was a riverside walk which had fallen into a state of poor maintenance by 1994, when the property was sold on, both the Pawsons having died after long spells in nursing homes.
