The house is one of the few Welsh commissions by Robert Mylne and is associated historically with some of the more important Welsh families. It was constructed c 1770, with additions or alterations c.1800 (following fire damage), c. 1813, c. 1914 and c. 1989. CSB

2. This garden is depicted on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25-inch map of Radnorshire XXXIII, sheet 11 (1904). C.H. Nicholas, RCAHMW, 25th August 2006.
