Description
1. This site appears on the OS 25 inch plans of 1889 and 1903 (XXIII:3). It is depicted as sitting within its own woodlands high above the main road (A44), though looking SE into its own park. A large glasshouse stood almost immediately behind the house and this appears to survive. To the E on the edge of the estate core was a kithen garden, though it is uncertain whether it was walled. Below to the South is a large lake titled Fish Pond, which had a boat house and islands possibly used as duck decoys.

2. This garden is depicted on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25-inch map of Radnorshire XXIII, sheet 3 (1903). Its main elements on that map include several conservatorys, parkland, pond, terrace and possible walled gardens. C.H. Nicholas, RCAHMW, 25th August 2006.
