Description
c2853m SW of Halfway, crossing level crest of ridge. Linear tilestone quarries running c1011m NE/SW x 36m, to edge of SN83SW. More than 10 major cuts, comprising quarry face along NW side with spoil fans extending to SE. 3 quarries have drainage cuts to lower boggy ground. Related to NPRNs 90450,62,63 etc. In its north-east extent the quarry can be traced to the south-west boundary of the moorland; it also extends on to enclosed land to the north-east of the moorland.
