Description
The Llanvihangel Railway, opened in 1814 with a 3ft 6 inch (110 centimetres) gauge. Its six mile route ran between a coal wharf at Govilon on the Brecknock and Abergavenny Canal (NPRN 85124) and a point just north of the road to Llanthony in Llanvihangel Crucorney, where it made an end-on junction with the Grosmont Railway. From there it joined the Hereford railway and supplied coal to the city. The railway was abandoned in 1846.
