Description
Llanybyther Cooling Centre received milk from local farms, which was then sent to Carmarthen dispersal depot.

The site was operated by Cow & Gate in the mid-twentieth century; milk was delivered to the centre from local farms and taken to Swansea.
(Source: Tim Davies, manager of Highmead Dairies, Llanybydder, on 06 November 1999)
The building is three storeys high plus attic, has eleven bays, and is built of rubblestone with yellow-brick dressings under a pitched slated roof; it was originally Felin Isaf Woollen Mill (nprn 116910), then a milk cooling centre, and since at least 1990 is in use by a builders merchant. It is not clear how milk was transported to Swansea (or Carmarthen), as although the site lies at the north end of the station yard it does not appear to have been directly rail connected.
