House linked to rear C19th industrial/commercial building in origin converted to mosque (? from 'Community Church') with prayer room, washing facilities, and women's space. Exterior of industrial building little altered: stone-built with brick dressings and slated mansard roof. External signage in English and Arabic: 'Newport Central Jam'e Masjid & Islam Educational Centre'. Formerly the Islamic Society for Gwent mosque and cultural centre (now NPRN 11659). The plaque on house read in 2006 (see photo): ISG / Islamic Society for Gwent / IMAM BARGAH MASJID / Muslim Community Centre.
