Description
The site for a Catholic church at Penparcau was purchased in 1962 from money bequeathed by the Truscott estate. The Truscotts were one of the oldest Catholic families in Aberystwyth. Foundations were laid in 1969 and the church was opened in 1970. The architect was Thomas Price who designed many new Catholic churches in Wales in this period. The builder was T. Alun Evans. The church has a semi-circular nave and is similar in design to several other churches designed by Price, for example St Helen's in Caerphilly (NPRN 14329). Artworks include stained glass windows and stations of the cross.

The church was closed in 2008 because of a leaking roof and its future is still uncertain (2016).
