Description
The first Capel Bethel was built in 1821 and the second around 1875, the latter to the design of The Reverend D Williams of Mallwyd, with D Thomas of Dinas Mawddwy as builder (BCS database). Either the cause alone, or the cause and the structure of its chapel, moved from the original site in 1888, and the chapel was rebuilt in 1889 to the design of T G Williams, architect of Liverpool. The original site was flooded to make way for Liverpool City's reservoir, Lake Vyrnwy. There is a plaque on the third Bethel Chapel (NPRN 11429).
