Description
Capel Bethel Ponciau was built in 1859 as the Welsh Calvinist Methodist chapel, and was replaced by the adjacent new Bethel (NPRN 7865)in 1903 when this chapel was converted into the Sunday School for the new chapel. The chapel is gable entry, built in a simple Classical style with acenral, flat-headed entrance flanked by two tall round-headed windows and with a triple, round-headed window above. In the centre of the gable is a plaque with the inscription "CAPEL BETHEL PONCIAU 1858 'NID OES YMA ONID TY I DDUW A DYMA BORTH Y NEFOEDD' GENESIS 28".
