Bowling Green House is a complex house built in various stages between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries. The earliest part faces Church Bank and is a timber-framed sixteenth to seventeenth century building which has been refaced in brick and was perhaps originally two cottages. To this a brick-faced range was added at the north-eastern corner and a stone range on the south-eastern side, facing Lions Bank. A confectioners shop was added in the nineteenth century. The building has distinctive local style windows.
