A water mill shown on Rees's map of the 14th century may originally have been called `Crug-y-gaer? (1). Located on the north bank of the Afon Cennen about a mile downstream from the eponymous castle. The present-day moorland boundary lies about 2.5 km to the south-east. The line of the water course is unclear on the available mapping.
