DisgrifiadAbercrave/Abercraf is a village within the historic boundaries of the county of Brecknockshire and is administered as part of the unitary authority of Powys. The origins of the settlement known today as Abercrave are unclear but architectural surveys of farmhouses around Abercrave indicate farming and settlement in the area in the fourteenth century. But it was from the early nineteenth century and the establishment of the coal and iron industry locally that the village evolved into its present form.
