A shingle bank extending into the sea from Wallog, more correctly an ice-lobe or end-moraine composed of glacial deposits marking the termination point of a glacier carrying felsite erractics from Mynydd Aran (Bowen, 1994, in Cardiganshire County History, p16). In folklore, the bank is famous as the submerged southern wall of the legendary drowned offshore territory known as 'Cantref Gwaelod', a story repeated and embellished by Meyrick in 1808.
