This pillar stone, a Sceduled Ancient Monument, measures some 1.3m high by 0.4m by 0.3m. It bears a roughly pick-out linear Latin cross, with ring & dot embelishments. The stone formerly served as a gatepost at Velindre Farm. A defended enclosure (NPRN 304475) lies some 120m east of Velindre farmhouse, and it has been suggested that the enclosure may have been reused as a cemetery, and the stone may have functioned as a boundary marker erected on the low earthwork some 4m from the south-west corner of the enclosure. The earthwork measures some 5m north-south and some 3m east-west.
