One of a cluster of four formerly ditched mounds, 12m in diameter & 1.0m high: excavation, 1961 (Burgess 1961; 1962, 17), confirmed the presence of a ditch, the mound itself being made up of 'stiff loam & clay', gravel-capped, had apparently been constructed over a deposit of carbonised planks with a little cremated bone.
