Norton Manor House is a large Jacobethan house (compare William Burn's work) dating from 1858, architect not known. It has a symmmetrical entrance front facing north-east, with an advanced centre and gabled bays. It is 2 storeys and attic, free stone with ashlar dressings, slate roofs, tall chimneys with diagonal stems (some removed), gable parapets with finials. The windows have wide, rectangular dripmoulds, mullions and transomes with small-pane glazing. There is a centre doorway with a 4-centred arch under a hood mould. There is a lower L-shaped range to the right and a tall 3 storey rear block with elaborate Tudor chimneys and finials at parapet level, 2 ground floor bays and a lean-to extension to the left. There is a high hipped roof to the centre of the house over a colossal top-lit stairwell.
