DisgrifiadBryngwyn Colliery, Bedwas, was worked from c.1863; it was closed in 1903. The only remains are a tall ruined engine house (nprn 85100) of around 1868, thought to have housed an inverted single action 'Bull' engine used for pumping and probably haulage in the adjacent drifts until 1903.
The site was visited as part of a rapid assessment of collieries potentially affected by the Rhymney Valley Local Plan. The Scheduled pumping engine house (nprn 85100) stands but there appear to be no other remains of the colliery.
Site visited B.A.Malaws, RCAHMW, 01 September 1993.
