Aerial reconnaissance on 13th Aug 2003 over the Trefil quarries revealed parched lines of old buried sleepers on early tramroad systems in various parts of the quarry. In this southern part, aerial photographs show the line of a buried tramway, now partly overlain by a farm, with the position of buried sleepers visible.
