In 1939, Rotax Ltd. opened a factory on the site of the Cyfartha Ironworks (nprn 34078), (later Cyfarthfa Industrial Park), to manufacture magnetos and distributors, &c., for the Royal Air Force during World War 2; it closed in 1946.
