Talyllyn was the junction station on the Brecon and Merthyr Railway where the Cambrian Railways (Mid Wales Railway) line from Three Cocks Junction (nprn 407765) joined, forming a triangular junction and enclosing a locomotive depot. There was originally a Mid Wales Railway station on the east side of the triangle, but it closed in 1878. All lines have been closed and dismantled but the former B & M station building still stands and has been converted to a dwelling.
