Disgrifiad

Penlan County Secondary for Boys was designed by Swansea Borough Architect, Herbert T. Wykes, and was first opened in 1956. In 1961 the school adopted the comprehensive system of education and became Penlan Comprehensive School. In 2003 the site became home to newly formed Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe, to complement the existing Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr as the City and County of Swansea's second designated Welsh-language secondary school due to the rise in demand in Welsh medium education. The current school provides education for pupils 11-18 year olds.
