DisgrifiadMelin-y- Garn is depicted as a flour mill at this location on the 1st and 2nd editions of the historic 25-inch O.S. maps. The map does not show a weir on the Afon Cathan, but the maps show an elongated pond to the south-east of the mill, fed by a leat from a point some 200 metres upstream. On the 3rd edition map the pond is clearly no longer in existence, although the mill retains the appelation "flour".
