Event and Historical Information:
The collections of Merseyside Maritime Museum include a figurehead of a standing man, smartly dressed with a blue tailcoat, white cravat, gold watch chain and fob. The figurehead is reported to have from the wreck of the WILLIAM TURNER, a 499-ton sailing ship built in 1833, which was driven ashore in Caernarvon Bay during a northerly gale in January 1845.
