Caehopkin is a village in the upper Swansea valley, in the Powys Unitary Authority. It lies between Abercraf and Coelbren on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The village began to form with the establishment of the the local coal industry, for example the Abercrave Colliery and the Ynyscedwyn Colliery and their expansion, especially from the start of the twentieth century. However, many of the mines in the area closed in the 1960s.
The village was photographed during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance in June 2014.
