DisgrifiadCarmarthen Old Bridge (nprn 23960) had become so badly damaged by floods that a temporary Bailey-type bridge on timber trestles was erected adjacent on the west side in May 1932, at a cost of £3000, while a replacement bridge was considered. The new bridge, a three-arched concrete and masonry construction, was built in 1936-7 and officially opened on 04 April 1938; it is still in use.
