The feeder (ST 084889 to ST 087877) and tramroad route to the tinplate works (nprn 1) passes early nineteenth century workers housing (nprn 19247) in Treforest. Cardiff Railway of 1907 necessitated a wide tunnel for the feeder to pass beneath the CR embankment which held sidings intended to hold coal trains received from a junction with the Taff Vale Railway. The junction was never approved.
