Ty Bronna was designed by the renowned architect C.F.A.Voysey for Hastings Watson in 1903, with finishing touches extending to 1906. It stands amongst trees higher up the hillside from the stable block (nprn 41529) of 1904. Voysey exploited the slope by placing the entrance at the short west end so that he could open up a five-arched veranda almost the full width of the south front which faced the view over the valley of the River Ely. There are two full storeys above that and an all-embracing hipped roof; at the angles there are battered buttresses from ground to eaves.
